In beats n peaces

Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy
Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Comes marching home

Funny, how we stay put when our voices are supposed to be louder than our thoughts. Funny, how at times, there are no thoughts. Or maybe even if there are, we choose to strangle them willingly for the sheer avoidance of consequences that might or might not arise later.

The planet is rightfully shaking us off this year I guess. One might think a calamity or the fear of being doomed might knock some sense in the human brain but that’s not even a remote possibility. I’ve been told in the past that my views are a little cynical but I’m trying hard to change the notion. Not making sense so far?

Amidst the whole pandemic slash locusts swarms slash freak cyclones slash 10 fuckin biblical plagues happening around us, but what has really changed? We still do what we were programmed to do.
Ok a lot of people lost thier lives before but will another black mans murder change anything at all? The media already says they’re out on the streets cuz they got nothing better to do in the lockdown n they just got a reason to get out of the house n voice their frustration. Regarding the loss of jobs, an asswipe leader, a failing system and racism.

We all are racists. You, me the next person and the next one too. Everyone’s racist, fuck even the government is racist! fuckin sue me!

Don’t believe me? Ask yourself whether you have till date made any decision or jumped to a conclusion, no matter how small, due to the color of someone’s skin? There’s only one answer. Protest all you want and then step out to buy a fairness cream. White gives us power! Even detergent ads don’t market cleaning colored clothes. They need to have the main character in brilliant white clothes! It’s the small things that leave an imprint. Billions are spent on skin therapies and spas n fairness products. They call themselves beauty products, fair is beauty? Why? Says who?

Parents still passively train their children hey date whoever u want but not a muslim. Hey go hangout with anyone but not that dalit guy. They aren’t “good people”. Then you ask “Well why would you say that dad?” And he replies “Oh don’t you know? It’s in thier blood! U cannot trust them”, then you argue “Who told you this?” “Uhh it’s a fact n you know it, you need to be with our kinda people” ” marry someone from our religion” blah fuckin blah!

Someone fed a pregnant elephant a pineapple with a fucking firecracker. The poor chordate ate it n it burst in its mouth. Instead of going on a bloody rampage through town this animal calmly walks into a river n peacefully dies. Three things died that day. The two elephants and common sense. For after the news hit, everyone started posting about how people should care for chicken n fish for their lives matter too! Go vegan! N whatnot. Tell me how many pregnant chicken or goats or cows are fed fuckin firecrackers before slaughtering? The real question you need to ask is that is our species so bored that it will simply do whatever the fuck they want to get entertainment? The answer is yes .. we always were like this. Since ancient times. From times of gladiators to bullfights and from camel racing kids in the middle east to trafficked children of the third world nation. It all looses trail of common sense when you don’t see value in the life of another living being.

People are able to easily shut down their emotional intelligence and that is the root cause of all violence, of all racism, of all wars. You think the drunk guy trying to sell his daughter for another bottle of whiskey has feelings for that girl? The only feelings he has are for his own satisfaction. Same is with those pedophile saints n men of god’s!

Mako, the guy who voiced iroh’s voice in Avatar the Last Airbender found out he was dying from cancer And he wrote the song above, leaves from the vine. In the scene the character sings it to a picture of his son which infact was a picture of mako himself when he was younger. “Happy birthday” he says, “if only I could help you”

Oh so many many shades to this. We do what we do and yet fail ourselves as humans. We hurt n maim n kill knowing that if someone did that to us we would never welcome it ourselves but we do inflict all that pain on others.

The last two lines are important here, the kids left when they were young and as a parent you call out for their return and when they do finally return, they’re all grown up.

It never happened for Iorh. It never happened to our planet. It gave us life, it nurtured us made us strong to face calamities and famines n what not but we were only busy discriminating and hating the gays and the blacks and the Dalits and the muslims and the queers and the poor. Wake up it’s still not too late. You can be the change, you can take a knee, you can spread the word.

Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Comes…. marching home

  1. So true. .. Humanity no longer exists. Life already has been taken for granted. People simply seem to have forgotten the principle of live n let live
