Come bow before us!

Today in India a terrorist was hanged. For he had killed some 257 people way back in ’93.  And somehow all of the paid-media has fallen into a frenzy. Debating weather he should have lived. And hence questioning the government that is trying hard to root out the decay from a country that is building up slowly along with its endemic parasites.

On a bigger picture. As moronic as the news channels can be. Instead of looking towards a brighter future of a country, they prefer bringing people in Spotlight. People who with the help of their socio-contradictory concepts make sure they remain in that spotlight.

Media is nothing but a marketing tool. Apart from the advertising (facet of the day long  airing schedule), it comes to my notice that only a little time is given to quality information. It helps keep people glued to their respective  screens.

All day long we have reporters and so called subject matter experts sitting in split screens debating about a certain event and my question is directly to the viewers of these idiotic programs.
Do you or do you not think that you are capable of coming up with your own opinions about things happening around you?

As I write this article there is an ongoing discussion about the undetonated bombs lying around in the middle East during the U.S invasions. And the discussion then suddenly drifts towards the Chinese economy?

There are billions of people of our own species that have their own set of problems.  And yet go unnoticed. This fact is so disturbing that when I come to think of it, of all the times that I have made myself sit in front of my TV to see the news I have never seen a reporter airing from a sub-saharan terrain showing the current condition of people and children perishing due to lack of resources. I have never seen a report on the child trafficking done all over the globe. I have never seen a report on the reality! All I see is celebrities tweeting something that gives the news channels a gum to chew on for the whole unproductive day.

And it is not the mass media that can be pointed out to be the culprit. The poor money mongering corporate snakes only air things that appeal to the masses. I mean who wants to see a mother crying for her kids dying in a blast when you can host a debate over why a certain celebrity has gone under the scalpel to get new breast implants?

I am not shunning the Media entirely. There are a handful channels worldwide that are doing a phenomenal job keeping it precise and concise.
The rest however is hogwash. Tailored news, Politically biased reviews, Paid media, pointless debates, all of this only makes your mind numb.

To come to think of it; How can the discussion of a handful of people help the masses? Instead of trying to implant thoughts in the minds of the masses the media should rather concentrate on providing better quality material. Real time, non opinionated, unbiased news.

It’s so funny that the human mind is so vulnerable to information intake. It believes anything that is told with confidence and a little truth. Truth.. The versions of which however… Is another long story.
