To think of duality in nature, to be straight about it.. To think of good and evil is I presume just something we make up in our own brains. Somehow whatever you are now sitting there reading this is a result of your upbringing your childhood and your past.(how? Google “Freud”) and nobody can change that. Not even you. Thus the fact of the matter remains the same. All you need to do is accept yourself the way you are and then think of people accepting you.
Coming back to chalking out the good from the bad. Pretty simple huh? I really don’t think so let’s remember the “Wise-man” Archimedes. The bloke said when you put something in water the amount of water spilled is equal to the mass of the thing you put in that water. Similarly Newton! Let me bring up about another funny story…
I mean man is such an instantaneous being( we shall definitely talk about this one). Tonight you might dream of something tomorrow something else. Now that depends on your day. But Newton? That guy thought of gravity when a Heroic apple decided to fall on his numb head. Why numb? Well come on! He used the loo almost every day I presume? And all that empty head time we all spend in the loo thinking of the lamest ideas ever wouldn’t he ever wonder why his scientifically marvelous pooper never went up.
How long will you wait for that apple to come and fall on your head?
Let’s talk today on the duality.
The British Empire considered Mister Bhagat Singh a terrorist but the later was a martyr for the Indian nation and is still revered for his heroic martyrdom.
Perspective is the word I feel important and deserves pondering upon. Because perspective is the only thing you have when you have motive. Motive comes from our will. Will comes from perspective again. It’s a vicious circle of its own kind! And it’s a marvelous thing. How? Well as some old guy said the need is the mother of all inventions. Now needs are based on perspectives. Now “how” you look at things is important.
I will not bore you with the omnipresent half glass of water and how we dissect our species into optimists and pessimists because that’s not really our point here. Perspective is nothing but our way of looking at things. If we believe strongly enough we have a notion of faith and we end up believing in that particular thing. Good bad? That depends on our need! The same human who is capable of a loving and caring emotion is also capable of hating or being envious at someone. What sets us apart from other developed life forms is this very aspect of life … perspective … the one that differs from each and every one of us. I like the “Eagles” (not the bird) but you might be a hard-core “linkin park” fan, does that make you a good guy or a bad one? Well I would say good guy looking from your buddies point of view and bad from your grandmas. Because at her age she likes Kenny G and probably at her age you will too because that is exactly how our brains react to aging and that is again a very important factor on building a perspective.
The duality that we were earlier focusing upon is nothing but our standalone view of something we look at.
Imagine a guy…or a girl if you’re a feminist. (And/ or if you think everyone should be).
So imagine this person (now that’s more subtle) is capable of living on…. Yes as simple as that.
Imagine somehow this person has been capable to dodge death itself. (How? Remember you are imagining this)(for hard-core science geeks let’s all presume that the body is somehow able to detoxify itself of all toxins that we create and hence stop aging)
coming back to this person. A person who has dodged death itself and is hence living on & on & on. He/she wont naturally become the grandfather of all knowledge just because they lived for a gazillion years because it’s after all one person at one place at one particular time. So if you asked this elder who had lived for say a 10,000 years about some definite historical event he shouldn’t be liable to answer that! Hence again it will be his/ her perspective on concluding whatever reports they have of the world they have seen.
now consider any normal person has a motive , imagine any motive , lean back and just let your imagination flow… his motive can be knowledge, happiness, anger, truth, revenge etc. ., etc., every single motive shall lead him to a different path and hence a different destination. Now weather that destination makes him content or not is another long subject but it’s the motive that made him perceive something and led him there.
So how do we categorize good and evil finally?
To be honest there is no such thing. Both of these phenomenal qualities reside inside us.
I Quote John Milton: ‘The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven
